Renewable and Sustainable Operations:
At Middletown Data Center, sustainability is integrated into our operations. We employ energy-efficient practices and cutting-edge technologies to minimize our environmental footprint. Our commitment to sustainability aligns with industry best practices, reflecting our dedication to responsible business operations.
We are setting the standard for environmentally friendly and regenerative operations for data centers. Green elements are incorporated throughout Middletown Data Center:
- PUE 1.2 Design
- Free Cooling: Closed-loop, zero-evaporative cooling minimizes water usage.
- Floor Layout (Cooling): Hot aisle containment floor layouts to increase cooling efficiency. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling precisely delivers cold air solely to the equipment.
- Natural Gas Generator Plant: Designed to run continuously to be energy efficient, lower cost of utility, and be environmentally friendly
- Efficient Cooling Systems: MDC utilizes 11 high-efficiency chillers with a closed-loop non-evaporative cooling system that incorporates free cooling. This innovative approach to cooling enhances energy efficiency while maintaining optimal operating temperatures.
Redundancy & Resiliency for Uninterrupted Operations:
We offer high levels of availability with redundant and concurrently maintainable capacity components from power systems to network connectivity.
- Natural Gas Generator Plant: ensures a continuous and reliable power supply, mitigating the risks associated with power interruptions.
- Diverse Fiber Routes: MDC boasts seven diverse fiber routes built into the site, enhancing network redundancy and minimizing the risk of connectivity issues.
- Separate and Diverse POP Rooms: To eliminate single points of failure, MDC incorporates two separate and diverse Point of Presence (POP) rooms. This architectural redundancy ensures that your network connections are not dependent on a single location, enhancing overall system resilience
- Generator Fleet: MDC's generator fleet includes six natural gas Cat® G3520H 2469 kW continuous rated generators and one Cat® 3512c diesel 1500kW generator. This diversified fleet ensures a reliable and resilient power supply, backed by redundant options to meet your specific needs.
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems: We employ state-of-the-art UPS systems, including eight 1,000 kW UPS, two 500 kW UPS, and three 450 kW UPS with lithium-ion batteries. This redundancy in power supply safeguards your critical infrastructure from power fluctuations and potential outages.
- Independent Power Modules: To further reduce the possibility of critical failure, MDC's facility is equipped with six power modules fed from independent transformers and separate closed conduit systems. This design choice adds an extra layer of redundancy, ensuring that your operations continue seamlessly.
- BMS-SCADA System: MDC incorporates a state-of-the-art Building Management System (BMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. This advanced system provides real-time monitoring and control, allowing us to proactively manage and optimize facility performance.
